BioLabs New York has partnered with NYU Langone Health to build a unique biotech co-working facility in Manhattan to attract the best companies in early-stage life sciences.

BioLabs at NYU Langone provides an engaging, collaborative space, top-of-the-line research equipment, business support and acceleration programming to help startup companies reach their milestones faster.

Site Director

Glennis Mehra

The Site Director externally focuses on promoting our site, finding prospective residents, and working with the board and our sponsors.

Laboratory Manager/Head

Allison Knox

The Lab Manager is your go-to operational support for all lab related questions and issues including laboratory space, equipment reservations, EHS, orders, and lab equipment.

Allison received her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Chemistry from Eastern Michigan University in 2007 and her Master’s in Medical Science from Wayne State University in 2009 with her thesis on Clear Cell Sarcoma.  She moved to New York to work in the Department of Genetic Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine.   She worked as a Research Specialist on projects related to culturing cells from and the genetic expression changes from cigarette, e-cigarette, and shisha smoking, lung disease and lung cancer, and HIV before moving up to the Lab Manager position for the lab.  She joined Biolabs in July 2019.

Senior Lab Ops Associate 

Atera Alam

The Senior Lab Operations Associate is the second in command in the lab.  They are also your go-to for anything lab related.

 

Atera received their Bachelor’s in Forensic Science in 2020. As they were working on their degree, they worked in two different research projects.  They worked extensively on developing a novel procedure to test for Anthocyanins using fluorescence. They also worked on measuring mercury levels found in soil.  

After graduation, they began their career in a molecular laboratory where they tested COVID-19 samples as well as the entire respiratory pathogen panel. They have also worked as a molecular biologist testing for Biothreat samples.

Administrative Coordinator

Kelly Lu

The Administrative Coordinator helps with operations, billing, space and membership changes, and the Connect Platform.

Site Coordinator

Tina Leong

The Site Coordinator helps companies with onboarding, resident relations, and maintenance of the Cafes, Mailroom, and Lockers.  He is your go-to for general site questions.
