Equipment & Deliveries

Buying New Equipment? Not So Fast! We don’t want to blow out our electrical systems.

All resident owned equipment needs to be approved for use at our facility before it is purchased and per the user agreement, must be purchased through Marketplace.

Equipment must fit within your rented space, work within the structural systems of our facility (electrical, ventilation, etc.), and must meet safety regulations as deemed by the BioLabs@NYULangone team.

Planning A Big Delivery To The Lab?

The building management requires notification of large equipment deliveries.  Please work with your vendor to communicate the following information to them to coordinate the delivery and installation.

  • Please see the Orders & Deliveries page for information regarding obtaining and submitting Certificate of Insurance to Biolabs and the building management.

  • Please relay the following information to the delivery company regarding the loading dock:

    • The loading dock is first come, first serve.  If the bays are full, trucks may temporarily park in front of or across the street from the loading dock to unload on the sidewalk.

    • Trucks must be less than 11 feet tall and a lift gate is preferred.

    • Due to weight restrictions in the freight elevators, the building does not allow pallet jacks without pre-approved written approval from the building. We have carts and dollies to borrow if needed.

  • After Delivery: Please move all shipping materials to the garbage (wrapping, Styrofoam, poly strapping, etc.). Cardboard boxes need to be broken down and moved to the freight area.

    • If items arrived on pallets or in crates, please move these items to the freight area and submit a Support ticket for disposal, or email the team to let them know.

Equipment & Deliveries

All refrigerators, freezers, and incubators are remotely monitored via probes from Elemental Machines. Each company has one representative who will receive email alerts.

House Rules

In Order To Maintain Our Collaborative Environment, Please Consider The Following at All Times

  1. One scientist per bench.  Do not take over space not assigned to you.

  2. When working on your computer, do so at your assigned desk, a floating desk, or in a common space area.  Do not use other benches as your desk.
