Offboarding

Member Offboarding

  • Please provide adequate notice to Biolabs when a member of your company is no longer coming on-site or employed by your company.

  • Submit an amendment change request form on the Connect platform if downsizing in space or memberships.

  • Please return the Biolabs and the 24/7 Building Access badges and office keys to the Biolabs team.  Replacement fees will be assessed for missing badges and keys.

  • If they are a lab member, all Biolabs-owned items must be returned in clean and good-working order including but not limited to 

    • Pipette Sets​

    • Serological Pipette Aids

    • Safety Goggles/Glasses

    • Lab coats

  • If you are downsizing your space, please return the space to it's original condition at the time of onboarding. Please refer to Appendices of the offboarding policy for checklists.

Member Offboarding

Company Offboarding​

  • You must give prior formal notice of offboarding at least 30 days in advance per the user agreement.

    • However, plans for offboarding should start at least 90 days in advance, especially those with larger companies and assets.​ 

  • Please consult the Graduation Review Presentation to develop your plans to graduate from Biolabs as well as the Offboarding Policy. 

  • Quick Key Points to Keep in Mind:

    • Let the Biolabs team know of your moving plans via this Offboarding Form and Connect Platform.

      • Please note that we cannot allow move outs on holiday weekends or between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day.

    • We will schedule an offboarding meeting with the Biolabs team and your company representatives to discuss specifics, timelines, and expectations.

    • Return Biolabs-owned equipment and supplies in clean and good-working order.  Companies will be charged to repair and replace items.

    • All personal items and waste is removed. Spaces are cleaned and returned to pre-move in condition.

      • Pre-move in conditions were recorded upon residents moving into a space.

      • We do not accept "normal wear-and-tear" as regular leases would because of the license wording in the user agreement.

    • Make sure all arrangements with the moving take into consideration the time, the space and the necessary paperwork required to move items out of Biolabs. 

      • This includes reserving the loading dock & freight elevator​ as well as submitting up-to-date COIs and having your technicians and mover staff complete visitor forms.

    • If you have any questions or concerns about the move and you would like to schedule pre-move meetings and walkthroughs, please reach out to Biolabs staff. 

    • Final walkthroughs will be conducted to asses damages within the lab and office spaces. Damages will be deducted directly from the retainer fee. Any remaining funds will be refunded to you once repairs are completed. 

      • Damage is considered any surface abrasion, punctures, and discoloration longer than 3" in length and 1/8" in width and/or depth.

      • Final walkthroughs must be scheduled within one week of the move out as to not delay repair work that needs to be completed to get the space ready for new tenants.

      • If a company does not complete the walkthrough with the Biolabs team, the company assumes all responsibility for damages and replacements.

    • Billing end dates will be at the end of the month as we do not pro-rate for move outs. 

Transferring Lab & Office Spaces​​

If you have been approved to transfer to a different lab and/or office space within Biolabs, here are some things you must do beforehand:

  • All Biolabs-owned furniture and equipment must remain in the space you are leaving from in clean and good-working order.

  • Spaces must be cleaned and returned in pre-move in condition. 

    • Pre-move in conditions were recorded upon residents moving into a space.

    • We do not accept "normal wear-and-tear" as regular leases would because of the license wording in the user agreement.

  • Final walkthroughs will be conducted to asses damages within the lab and office spaces. Damages will be deducted directly from the retainer fee. Any remaining funds will be transferred to your new retainer once repairs are completed. 

    • Final walkthroughs must be scheduled within one week of the move out as to not delay repair work that needs to be completed to get the space ready for new tenants.
