Keep In Mind:

All new members MUST complete onboarding.
​
You must fill out a New Member Form 15 days before onboarding and a amendment change request on the Connect Platform to add memberships, desk, and benches. Onboarding dates are here.
Site access badges will be provided until the completion of onboarding.
​
Lab Members will not be allowed to work in the lab until completion of EHS training. All onboarding is conducted in person.

Make sure they are scheduled for orientation and training, 2nd and 4th Mondays (except holidays)

New lab members must obtain or transfer an FDNY C-14 Certification.

Arrange for Marketplace Login credentials and Training. Please visit Marketplace and fill out the New to Marketplace? form.
Marketplace training is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2-3 pm.

Note: Office-only members can leave after the General Site Orientation session is complete. Lab members must complete the laboratory and EHS training before they can receive their badges and work in the laboratory.
9:30 am: Meet in Reception
9:30 – 9:50 am: Site Presentation by Site Coordinator (Watts Conference Room - Rm 605)
9:50 – 10:00am: 10 min break
10:00-10:30am Site Tour
Office only members will receive their badges following the site tour
Office only members can leave, lab members continue
10:30am- 11:30am: Lab Presentations by Allison (Watts Conference Room - Rm 605)
11:30am - 1:00 pm: Break/Lunch
1:00pm – 4:00pm: Lab Safety Training by Atera (Holland Tunnel Conference Room - Rm 707)
Lab members can obtain badges from Clive after lab safety training.

Once your new employee completes the onboarding sessions, they will receive a badge and be ready to start!
Buying New Equipment? Not So Fast!
Please refer to the Equipment Purchasing Checklist and complete the Equipment Approval Form before purchasing large equipment for your space. We want to make sure your equipment is appropriate for the space and the building and your space is ready to accept the equipment.

Adding or removing a member? Need some more space?

Reach out to Kelly to request any changes to your current staff or space at the site. These include the following, but not limited to, additions, canceling memberships, adding or subtracting desks & benches, and waitlist requests for private office & lab space.
House Rules
To Maintain A Collaborative Environment, Please Consider The Following Rules:

Be courteous and show respect to members and visitors.

Be considerate when using the open desk area ensuring not to take up more than one desk per person.

All guests must complete the Visitor Form before their visit or upon arrival using the iPad in the 6th floor lobby.

Members may not take, copy or use any information, intellectual property belonging to BioLabs, Member Companies , their Members or Guests.

Pets are not allowed. Service animals are allowed and must comply with ADA requirements. Please reach out to Biolabs staff beforehand for accommodations.

Children may only visit outside of normal business hours unless during an authorized family-friendly event.

Please adjust your volume when speaking in open areas.

Alcohol is not permitted during business hours unless it is part of an approved BioLabs event.

Electronic devices must contain the latest software updates and kept clean of malware, viruses or anything designed to perform malicious operations. BioLabs may remove any device from our networks that pose a threat to our networks or users.

In compliance with the New York Smoke-Free Air Act, smoking (including e- smoking) is prohibited inside the building.

We expect that members and guests will not perform any activity that is likely to be disruptive, damaging or dangerous to anyone on site.

Members are responsible to successfully complete EHS courses before being given access to the lab.

To host member events on premises, BioLabs requires completed paperwork and reasonable prior notice.

Alterations and/or installations to the Office Space require BioLabs approval. Members are responsible for the removal of such items, as well as installation and removal costs. Approved alterations, installations, and removals must be coordinated through BioLabs.

Keys and badges provided by BioLabs remain our property, not be copied or shared. Members are responsible for replacement fees if lost or stolen. Locks cannot be installed unless authorized in advance by BioLabs.

Offices may not be used as retail or medical space involving frequent visitors.
